QUESTIONS ANSWERS
1) How can Stainless Steel be cost competitive with 12 gauge Hollow Metal? -It’s all in the Engineering
The gauge is reduced to 14 gauge, and the profiles are slimmer. The mechanical properties of Stainless Steel allow this superior change while still maintaining the critical security requirements of today’s demanding criminal justice designers and owners. Streamlined, state of the art manufacturing also plays a major role in the process.
2) How do you paint Stainless Steel? -You don’t.
The interior side of each window should remain 2B Stainless Finish. This is where a lot of abuse takes place and why paint it, if it’s going to be a maintenance problem down the road. The exterior of the window can be ordered with powder coated “Z” profile 14 gauge Stainless Steel glass stops that completely wrap the exterior portion of the frame giving you the color you want on the outside of the building

They will pass the test of time, where ferrous metal windows will weaken with corrosion
